The world's first "antibacterial nail tip that returns to the soil" will be released on December 8th while enjoying fashion while achieving both environmental pollution and infection prevention.

GS Alliance Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, President: Ryohei Mori (Engineering)), which is engaged in the development of environmentally friendly energy, is raising awareness of hygiene amid concerns about the impact of the third wave of corona. In response, we have released a new “Antibacterial / Return to the Earth Nail Tip” that has been given an “antibacterial treatment” on a naturally derived nail tip that does not use any petroleum-based materials.

Natural biomass-based biodegradable resin with antibacterial properties is extremely rare and will be the world's first nail tip. Since it does not use plastic, it will decompose and return to the soil in 10 years after disposal.

■Achieve SDGs with the support of UN agencies! The first step is ≪Antibacterial nail tip that returns to the soil≫

Asia's first startup development base "Global Innovation Center" by a United Nations agency opened in Kobe this month.

It is a facility that supports venture companies developing with the aim of achieving the "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)". decided to move in. In the future, we will continue to develop the technology with the aim of adopting it in the United Nations project.

The nail tip this time is an effort to prevent marine pollution, which has a major impact on the theme of "climate change", and uses natural biomass-based biodegradable resin without using any plastic.

Not only can they be used repeatedly in the same way as regular nail tips, but they will eventually decompose in the natural world in about 10 years and return to the soil. This time, we have realized "antibacterial" nail tips by combining our own technology of silver nanocolloid and cellulose nanofiber.

(*Inactivation of Escherichia coli has been confirmed during a third-party test, and virus tests (antivirus) are currently underway.)

Developing materials that can both prevent infection and prevent marine pollution amid an increase in "corona garbage" such as masks

With the resurgence of the new coronavirus, while masks and gloves have become a part of our lives, plastic products that use petroleum-based materials, such as masks, face shields, sterilized alcohol containers, and individual food packaging, so-called corona garbage. It is used and discarded in large quantities, and its impact on the marine environment has been pointed out.

In addition, this situation is expected to continue for some time, and it will become increasingly necessary to balance infection control and environmental impact.

Therefore, the GS Alliance conducted repeated research to find a product that would be a clue to solving infection control and marine pollution prevention at the same time, and developed a natural biomass-based biodegradable resin that also has antibacterial properties.

First, we applied it to nail tips, which are often touched in various places, and commercialized it. In the future, we will apply it to various items such as antibacterial and antiviral toothbrushes and tableware, and work on measures against marine pollution.

Biosakura Nail Tips 2

(*) The nails released this time are made by combining a material called cellulose nanofiber, so it has a porous structure that allows oxygen and water vapor to easily pass through, making it easy for the nails to breathe.

The tip is translucent, so you can use it many times if you apply nail color, and the color will last for a long time.

The material will return to the soil in about 10 years after being discarded, so you can use it in your daily life with peace of mind.

Ethical consumption that starts with nails that is fashionable and fun and friendly to people and the environment. It can be easily removed, so it is recommended for those who cannot grow their nails long or for appearance care, and we can propose an earth-friendly lifestyle.

Currently, there are four sizes, but we will increase the number of nail tip sizes, soften the hardness of the nail tip to make it always gentle, and make it thinner so that it can cover your own nails beautifully.
